The SUN NEWSPAPER has reported the Sontarans will return in series 4, here is what they had to say:
DOCTOR Who is to battle a race of EGG-HEADED monsters — with ex-Young Ones star Christopher Ryan as the lead baldy.
The warmonger Sontarans will return in next year’s series.
Ryan, who played straight man Mike in cult BBC comedy The Young Ones, has been filming scenes in Cardiff.
It will be his second stint in the show after showing up as alien creature Lord Kiv back in 1986.
Ryan said yesterday: “I’m absolutely delighted to be appearing.
“The last time I was on Doctor Who it was 20 years ago and Colin Baker was the Time Lord.”
Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies has long been keen to bring back the humanoid knuckleheads.
They first terrorised the Doctor in 1973, when John Pertwee played him.
The super-tough creatures are all male and reproduce by cloning themselves.
Their return in series four — alongside Time Lord David Tennant — means they are the latest of the show’s classic foes to make a comeback.
As always, the Sun usually makes up Doctor Who rumours that are not true, so please, do not be dissapointed if this turns out to be a rumour!
